Asia there is marked preference for the luxury branded clothing


As opposed to affluent Western consumers, the Asian wealthy class shopping differently, according to market research firm Synovate latest survey results show that the Asian rich like to buy those with significant signs and high-profile luxury brand. The Wall Street Journal reports that 68 percent of the Hong Kong respondents said they prefer high-profile brand, as a way to ensure that it is a knockoff means. The United States and the United Kingdom of the respondents have the opposite viewpoint, they think that some counterfeit than the more well-known luxury brands epidemic.

Jill Telford, CEO Synovate, said in an interview: "The Chinese were more inclined to let others know they are buying genuine goods, not a counterfeit product."

In the United States and Britain, respectively, only 36%, and 33 percent of respondents said that she likes and has had a significant sign, as well as high-profile luxury brand. In India and the UAE, this proportion was 79%, respectively, and 58%.

The survey was conducted online, with a total of 11 countries and regions more than 8,000 consumers participated in the survey, they were from the United States, Brazil, Canada, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

The study also investigated whether consumers will buy for their own indulgence in luxury and feel guilty, results showed that almost half of U.S. consumers feel some guilt. Nearly three-quarters of the Indian consumers said they did not feel this is a splurge, despite the widespread poverty throughout the country, but they are luxury goods that consumers think it is a sign of the country's economic development.
